FRANK ON FRIDAY – Crying “Racist”

Last week I explained why it’s so important for Democrats to brand Donald Trump as a “racist.”  President Trump has driven black unemployment to historic lows, and wages are rising.  Polls have suggested an increase in black support for Trump.  As a result, the media is working night and day to brand Trump a “racist.”  Its main tactic is lying, to turn any utterance of the President into a racist slur.  So when Trump speaks of “fine people” on each side of the dispute over Confederate war memorials, this becomes, “Trump calls white supremecists “fine people.”  When Trump notes that Baltimore is infested with rats, it becomes, “Trump calls blacks in Baltimore an infestation.”  They have to lie.  Democrats have no other message.  The problem is that the Dems (which of course includes the media), have applied the “racist” label so often and so broadly that it no longer has any meaning.  This is dangerous, because vile racists still exist.  If all political opponents are labeled “racist,” then you have no credibility, so in effect, none are racist.  Case in point, in addition to calling Donald Trump a racist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, AOC (All Out Crazy) has called Mitch McConnell racist, along with anyone who supports the President.  She wasn’t done, though.  AOC also suggested Nancy Pelosi is racist, along with Democrat lawmakers who didn’t vote for her loony agenda.  It’s almost like the old Dr. Pepper commercial, “He’s a racist, she’s a racist, everyone but me’s a racist, wouldn’t you like to be a racist too?”  So what does “racist” really mean?  Merriam-Webster, a real dictionary, say it’s “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.” Proving that the term “racist” is overused, and that the internet is not a dependable source of information, Dictionary.com lists as synonyms of “racist” “xenophobe” and “chauvinist,” and as an antonym “multicultural.”  These words have nothing to do with race.  A xenophobe is opposed to outsiders of any race.  A chauvinist believes his own country is best, such as Democrat Woodrow Wilson, who proclaimed, “My country right or wrong.”  But that may be a bad example because Democrat Wilson was a true racist.  Likewise, culture transcends race.  The government recognizes 5 races: American Indian or Alaska Native;  Asian; Black or African American; Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander; and White.  Hispanic isn’t a race, but an ethnicity, meaning people descended from Spanish speaking populations including that of Spain.  But it’s confusing.  I have 2 uncles who were Spaniards, so my cousins are Hispanic.  I, however remain a white European oppressor.  It seems Spanish Hispanics aren’t as important to politics as other Hispanics.  The Hispanic Network recognizes a subgroup, “Latinos,” who are from Latin America.  But this also breeds confusion.  My grandfather’s sister was from Argentina, so she could be considered a Latina.  All her descendants, who are my cousins, are both Latinos and Hispanic, and yet I remain a white European oppressor.  Maybe, rather than fighting identity politics, we should join it.  I recently got my DNA profile.  The majority of my DNA is Italian, so I should be considered Italic.  Italics have been discriminated against.  As a prosecutor in Alabama, Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, about to try an Italian defendant, reportedly pulled down the shades in the courtroom to make the defendant appear black.  Former KKK member, Democrat Hugo Black, was a true racist.  Not good enough?  More than 10% of my DNA is from Western Asian, which includes the Middle East and Turkey, and who’s peoples are Arabs, Kurds, Persians, Azerbaijanis, and Anatolian Turks.  These are Semitic people, but with the rise of anti-Semetism in the Democrat party, this may not help me either.  Some of my DNA is North African, so might I be considered “African-American?”  I think not.  I even have more DNA from Senegal and West Africa than Elizabeth Warren has Native American DNA.  But, when you get down to Elizabeth Warren levels, that pretty much demonstrates the absurdity of your argument.  All identity politics is ridiculous and harmful.  Case in point, the aforementioned AOC has even identified racist vegetables.  I kid you not.  Commenting on a community garden, AOC denounced the planting of cauliflower.  “I don’t know, cauliflower or something, what you’re doing is that you’re taking a colonial approach to environmentalism, and that’s why a lot of communities of color get resistant to certain environmentalist movements, because they come with the colonial lens on them…”  It seems cauliflower too is racist.  As AOC explained, “black people don’t know how to cook cauliflower, and they don’t like it.”  If Donald Trump said such a thing, no doubt, it would be labelled racist.  Would planting collard greens be “colonial” and therefore racist?  I guess so.  Cauliflower was introduced to America in the 1920’s, but collard greens, which also derive from kale, were fed to the slaves in the South.  That must make collards racist.  But Michele Obama has a collard greens recipe in her cookbook, so does that make her racist too?  Wow!  Racism must be rampant.  It isn’t.  Racism surely exists, but applying that label to all opponents actually aids the true racists, who are able to hide among those who are falsely accused.  The Dems have adopted “racist” much as it was fashionable in 1950’s to denounce opponents as “communist.”  Of course, this is ironic, coming as it does from imbeciles who fancy themselves communists, a/k/a, Democratic Socialists.  It is a Stalinist tactic, denouncing an opponent as “anti-communist” or “counter-revolutionary.”  Throwing the word “racist” around is a Progressive attempt to enforce absolute political purity.  It’s ideological cleansing at its worst.  They divide us into groups by race and ethnicity not to pursue justice, but to pursue power.  Identity politics obscures our true identity, as Americans.  And whether you subscribe to the “melting pot” or the “salad bowl” view of the American experience, “American” necessarily includes people of all races and ethnicities.  So I’m satified just being “American.”  But, sadly, that doesn’t get you elected.

FRANK ON FRIDAY – You Dirty Rat!

Another week and more “Trump is a racist” fake news.  Last week, Congressman and Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings, who has represented Baltimore for more than 26 years, took time out from his usual pass-time, threatening the Trump Administration and the President’s children with abusive Congressional investigations, to scream at Homeland Security Secretary McAleenan, accusing the government of mistreating children in detention facilities at the border  “What does that mean, when a child is sitting in their own feces?  Can’t take a shower.  Come on man, what’s that about?  None of us would have our children in that position.  They are human beings.”  Cummings’ allegations were baseless.  DHS is caring for thousands, despite the fact that the Congress (That’s you Elijah) has miserably failed to do the job of regulating immigration which Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution specifies is to be done by the Congress.  The detention facilities do provide showers, and when a child is sitting in his own feces, the DHS employees change their diapers, a task made necessary because the Congress (That’s you again Elijah) is guilty of nonfeasence.  DHS recently bought 2.2 million diapers to meet the demand.  President Trump did not take kindly to Cummings’ tirade, and Tweeted that that Cummings represents a rodent infested district in Baltimore, and might do better cleaning up the disgusting rat hole that elected him, rather than leveling baseless charges about the border facilities.  Surprising no one, all Hell broke loose in the media.  The President was lambasted for what were gratutitously labelled “racist Tweets.”  Once the media used the “R” word, Democrat imbeciles jumped right in and denounced Trump as a “racist.”  Al Sharpton no less, and there is no less, claimed Trump called minorities subhuman.  No Al, he’s talking about rats, and guess what?  Rats are subhuman.  The fact that the President never mentioned any person in Baltimore, much less the race of any person anywhere didn’t matter.  The media BS story was, “Trump calls blacks in Baltimore an infestation of rodents.”  Sad.  You see, in our disfunctional political climate, unlike in the law, truth is never a defense.  The truth, which seems not to matter, is that Baltimore really is a disgusting rodent infested rat hole, but not because Trump says so.  In July 2018, Baltimore’s Northeast Market was forced to close due to rat infestation.  In September 2018, a Baltimore Sun article quoted then-Mayor Catherine Pugh as saying that the problem was so extensive that “you can smell the rats.”  PBS even did a documentary about rat infested Baltimore, entitled Rat Film.  The Baltimore Sun said of the documentary that there has been “a decades-long fight waged against Baltimore’s rat population.”  Bernie Sanders even toured Baltimore and compared it to a Third World city.   So let’s recap.  The Baltimore Sun says the City is a rat hole.  The former Mayor says she can smell the rotting rat carcasses, PBS found the rat infestation to be so severe that it warranted a documentary on public television, and Bernie Sanders is appalled.  But when Donald Trump mentions the problem he’s a racist.  Trump has to be a racist, you see, because in 2016, he challenged African-Americans to give him a chance asking, “What have you got to lose?”  Trump was elected, and he delivered.  As a result, polls indicated that Trump’s support among African-Americans doubled.  Democrats can’t permit that to happen.  If Trump doubles his support among black voters, they lose.  Ergo, no matter what Trump says, Democrats will answer “Racist.”  If he says, “Hey Melania, Macy’s is having a White Sale.”  “Aha, Racist!” If he notes, “It’s always darkest before the dawn,” they’ll  find some black woman named Dawn who’ll claim he was referring to her.  The imbeciles even managed to get in a claim that Trump’s rodent infestation Tweets proved him to be a Nazi, comparing the Tweets to Nazi era anti-Semetic screeds like that of Julius Streicher’s Der Sturmer, which reviled Jews as an disease to be eradicated.  They didn’t have to go that far back, though.  Columbia Professor Rashid Khalidi warned that Jewish members of the Trump Administration would “infest the government.”  And if “infest” is the offending word, Elijah Cummings himself said his district is “drug infested.”  But Cummings is a black Democrat and Khalidi is a Leftist, and a Muslim, so they can’t be criticized.  The truth doesn’t matter, you see.  Trump’s Tweet was “a dog whistle.”  Once again, I must ask, if only Democrats can hear the whistle, what does that make them?  What Trump said was not only true, but an alarming indictment of our crime and pestilence ridden inner cities, which have squandered billions of federal dollars, leaving their inhabitants in unimaginable filth that would not be tolerated by any properly run government.  But Democrats have run Baltimore forever, so it’s alright.  Democrats run every one of the rat and crime infested cities in America.  And strangely, Democrats for some reason equate tolerating rats, filth, homeless encampments and piles of feces on the streets with compassion, rather than what it really is – a complete abdication of their responsibility, amounting to criminal nonfeasance.  Rats, apart from being the disgusting harbingers of social decay, carry a variety of diseases, chief among them, bubonic plague.  We haven’t had a decent plague outbreak since 1925 in Los Angeles .  When it breaks out again, Democrats should be so proud.  The Dems are concerned about the environment right?  Not always.  It is estimated that there are 60,000 people living on the streets of Los Angeles.  Unlike in the DHS facilities, there are no diapers, and the streets are awash with human feces, which is running directly into the water.  Imagine a city the size of Bismarck, North Dakota (which speaking of rodents, is home to the Racoon National Cemetery), discharging all its solid waste untreated, into the water.  Democrats wouldn’t tolerate that in Bismarck, but in Los Angeles or Baltimore, it’s progressive.  When America sees its first cholera epidemic since the 1830’s the Democrats’ work will be done, and we with it.  But don’t complain or you’re a racist.

FRANK ON FRIDAY – The Witch Is Dead

Since its inception, Donald Trump has denounced the investigation of his election by Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his merry band of Trump haters as a witch hunt.  Trump said “witch hunt” so many times that the so-called “Mueller Report” even lists calling the investigation a witch hunt as a potential means of charging the President with obstruction of justice.  The Mueller Report was issued in May, and was made public.  Mueller reported that his investigation showed that the Russians tried to interfere with our election, but that there was no evidence, that is NO EVIDENCE, after thousands of subpoenas, 500 search warrants, and interrogations of witnesses in a number of countries, of any conspiracy with the Russians by any American – including the President and any of his supporters.  That wasn’t good enough for the Democrats, however, who have continued to claim that there is evidence of collusion.  The Dems wanted a do over.  They wanted to call all the witnesses who already testified to ask them again.  Then, they demanded that Robert Mueller testify in person.  Mueller told us in May, in an uncomfortable 9 minute statement, that he had nothing to say other than what was in the 448 page report.  If subpoenaed, he said, he would say nothing that wasn’t in the report.  The Dems demanded that he testify nevertheless.  They were sure that, once on the witness stand, Mueller would admit what Democrats continue to believe without evidence, that Donald Trump is guilty of obstructing justice, and that he was elected only because he made a traitorous deal with the Russians.  Of course, this is crazy, but than again, the Democrats who currently run the asylum formerly known as the House of Representatives, are crazy, one and all.  On Wednesday, the long awaited Mueller testimony took place.  It was disastrous for Democrats, hoping against hope that Mueller would say, “Go ahead.  Impeach the President.  We all know he’s guilty.”  That didn’t happen.  Mueller came off as a doddering fool, and the Democrats were embarrassed.  Don’t take my word for it.  Listen to the words of depressed liberal imbeciles.   Harvard Law School professor Laurence Tribe hates President Trump.  he said, “Much as I hate to say it, this morning’s hearing was a disaster.”  ABC’s Terry Moran announced, “Impeachment’s over.”  Hillary henchperson David Axelrod, called Mueller’s testimony, “very, very painful.”  Republican spokesperson attorney Harmeet Dhillon was less kind, describing Mueller’s testimonial performance as defensive, evasive and senile.  That may be an understatement.  Mueller continuously didn’t hear or understand the questions.  More than 200 times, his answer was, “I can’t comment on that.”  Several times, he had to be reminded that the question concerned something in the report.  Mueller proved one thing.  He had little to do with the both the investigation and the report.  He did not hire the lawyers.  Trump hater Andrew Weissman did that.  Mueller didn’t attend interviews, and he clearly did not write the report issued in his name.  For instance, anyone paying attention knows that Hillary hired the company Fusion GPS to get the phony Steele dossier filled with Russian lies.  Mueller, who Democrats assured us sees all and knows all, testified he “wasn’t familiar” with Fusion.  Mueller even lied, until he was forced to issue a “correction.”  He told left-wing nut Ted Lieu, the Office of Legal Counsel’s long-held position against charging a president while he is in office prevented him from indicting the President.  Mueller later had to walk that back.  After doing a credible impression of Ralph Kramden’s “Humina, humina, humina,” Mueller admitted, “we did not reach a determination as to whether the President committed a crime.”  Mueller did give Democrats the red meat they wanted, confirming the nonsensical part of the report announcing that he did not “exonerate” the President.  Chairman Nadler even raised that bar, asking if Mueller “totally exonerated” Trump.  Republicans honed in on this.  Asked whether he had ever issued an exoneration of any other person he investigated, Mueller couldn’t think of one.  Asked if he ever held any person other than Donald Trump to the “not exonerated” standard, Mueller couldn’t name one, but he lamely offered, “This was a unique situation.”  That’s about the only thing Mueller said that I agree with.  This was a unique situation.  It is the only time that governmental officials from one Party, enlisted the Justice Department, the FBI, the CIA and representatives of foreign intelligence agencies to undo the lawful election of a President of the United States.  That would make a great story if the mainstream media actually reported the news.  Here’s some free legal advice.  When a judge instructs a jury, the jurors are told that nothing can be proven to an absolute certainty, e.g., “total exoneration.”  So the Democrat standard is that if you can’t prove the impossible, Trump is guilty.  I love a fair trial.  Mueller was justly savaged by the Republican Committee members. Louie Gohmert said of the President, “What he’s doing is not obstructing justice; he is pursuing justice and the fact you ran it out two years means you perpetuated injustice!”  Devin Nunes began his remarks, “Welcome everyone, to the last gasp of the Russian collusion conspiracy theory,” He compared Democrat claims that evidence of collusion actually exists to those who insist that the Loch Ness Monster is real.  My favorite comment, though came from California Republican Tom McClintock, who told Mueller, “You couldn’t make a legal case, so you made a political case, dropped it on our doorstep, lit it on fire, rang the doorbell and ran.”  That is so true.  Mueller tried to defend himself, his investigation was not a witch hunt.  This was eerily reminiscent of Richard Nixon’s, “I am not a crook.”  The Mueller fiasco before Congress should spell the end of Robert Mueller as the anointed savior of the Democrats.  It’s a shame, because he used to have a good reputation.  Now that’s gone.  Mueller looked inept and foolish.  By lending his formerly good name to this to a coup de etat, he did this country a grave disservice.  The bottom line is that Democrats wanted  Mueller to light the flame of impeachment.  They failed miserably.  Now they should burn.  Ding dong, the witch is dead.

FRANK ON FRIDAY- Who We Are

In 2005, the great historian David McCullough gave a speech at Hillsdale College in Michigan on the importance of teaching and learning history.  He recounted giving a seminar to history graduate students at an Ivy League college, and finding that not one of the students knew who George Marshall was.  As shocking as that is to believe, the point was that American colleges, and high and elementary schools, don’t teach history.  McCullough told the Hillsdale students, “We have to know who we were if we’re to know who we are and where we’re headed.”  “We should never look down on those of the past and say they should have known better.  What do you think they will be saying about us in the future?  They’re going to be saying we should have known better.  Why in the world did we do that?  What could we have been thinking?  Samuel Elliot Morrison said we ought to read history because it will help us to behave better.”  McCullough did not mince words, “We are raising a generation of young Americans who are by and large historically illiterate.”  He’s right.  And the fact that young people are ignorant of history is not only a shame, it’s a clear and present danger to our Republic.  I was reminded of the existential threat to our freedoms this past weekend when two separate acts of domestic terrorism occurred without so much as a yawn or a notice by the media.  In Colorado, a mob protesting the deportation of illegal aliens stormed an ICE facility, tore down the flags, wrote “Abolish ICE on one, and replaced the American flag with a flag of Mexico.  The police stood by and did nothing.  In Tacoma, Washington, a band of Antifa hooded bastards, armed with firearms, homemade bombs and Molotov cocktails, attacked an ICE detention facility.  The mob’s leader, one Willem Van Spronsen, who had a record of attacking police officers, led this attack, planning to blow up propane tanks to burn down the building, presumably with the detainees still inside.  Sadly, the people who populate the main-stream media are part of the generation of historical illiterates.  Moreover, their ignorance of history, coupled with their dual mental conditions – Trump derangement syndrome and delusions of rectitude – is a dangerous combination.  The Antifa bastards, largely a bunch of spoiled, white, extreme left-wing whackos, justify whatever they do by claiming that their actions are motivated solely by their desire to oppose fascism.  The left-wing media eats this crap up with a spoon.  No matter what Antifa does, including, breaking windows, burning cars, assaulting people with sticks, bats, and other weapons, they are immune to criticism in the media.  CNN’s Don Lemon sloughs off Antifa violence by telling us, “No organization is perfect.”  Of course, he doesn’t cut law enforcement the same slack.  Chris Cuomo, the dumbest of all the Cuomo’s, dismissed Antifa violence as violence in “a good cause.”  A good cause?  Anti-fascism right?  Wrong!  Being historically illiterate, the media apologists for Antifa either don’t know, or simply don’t care that the tactics of Antifa are fundamentally fascist.  Political extremists, all wearing common clothing, rampaging through the streets, brandishing weapons,  threatening and beating up anyone who dares hold a differing opinion, is right out of the Nazi playbook.  If they wore brown shirts instead of black hoods, they’d be a perfect match.  But when the talking heads tell the young illiterates that Antifa is a good cause, the illiterates have no way to understand they’re being lied to.  They never had a chance.  They are the victims of educational malpractice.  Loony lefty professors have filled their heads with their socialist bullcrap.  How else to explain how, at a time of unprecedented economic opportunity, with unemployment at historic lows, incomes rising and more jobs available than workers to fill them, so many young people are enamored of socialism.  There were socialists in the 1930’s, but even in the midst of the Great Depression the socialist cause never gained traction.  A call for socialism in the Land of Plenty can only be the result of educational malpractice.  But it’s worse.  Government leaders are also complicit.  Officials give aid and comfort to law breakers, while seeking to shackle law enforcement.  They order the police to allow riots in Baltimore, and to do nothing when a journalist is beaten unconscious in Portland.  The police ignoring crimes committed in open view is itself a crime.  They don’t care.  The other day, Elizabeth Warren announced she wants to allow illegal aliens to ignore our laws and to arrest the officers who enforce our laws.  So when Antifa’s Willem Van Spronsen tries to burn down a detention center, and is only stopped when he’s shot and killed, there’s no outrage.  Van Spronsen called the attack on the ICE facility in Tacoma “a proportionate action against enslavers and internment camp operators.”  He said,“Evil says concentration camps for folks deemed lesser are necessary.  The handmaid of evil says the concentration camps should be more humane.”  That’s a good cause, right Cuomo?  Antifa was just resisting American concentration camps to support the detainees, like World War II partisans.  No one pointed out the flaw in Van Spronsen’s mania.  We are not running concentration camps.  If students were taught history, they’d know that’s a lie which insults the memories of the millions of concentration camp victims.  And by the way,  WWII partisans didn’t try to kill concentration camp inmates before the Nazis could kill them first.  That’s crazy, and so is Antifa.  If history was taught, the young could separate the truth from the lies.   But they never learned who we were, so they can’t understand who we are.  And that’s the danger.  When leftist commentators piously denounce the latest words or acts of the Trump Administration preaching, “That’s doesn’t represent our values,” the illiterates believe it.  They just don’t know any better.  Our values derive from our history, and that piece is missing for these poor kids.  When demagogues can manufacture history for their own purposes, none of us is safe.  David McCullough had a suggestion.  If the schools won’t do it, parents must teach their kids who we are.

FRANK ON FRIDAY – A Grand Old Flag

Christopher Scalia,  the son of late Justice Antonin Scalia, once said that “progressivism has become the haunting fear that someone, somewhere may be celebrating America.”  His observation was borne out by the recent Kaepernick/Nike sneaker fiasco.  Shoemaker Nike announced plans to release a line of sneakers called the Nike Air Max 1, bearing the original 13 starred U.S. flag, commonly known as the Betsy Ross flag.

Certainly, no one possibly could object to such unassuming and attractive footwear, right?  Wrong!  A liberal imbecile can always find something that offends him or her.  And what better time to complain about America than Independence Day?  Enter Colin Kaepernick, the former NFL player, who walked away from his $126 million contract, to become the poster-boy (poster-person?)  for racial equality.  It goes to show you just how desperate the Left is for someone to bash America.  Kaepernick was never oppressed.  He was a pampered athlete, who received a free college education, and then was paid more than $13 million a year.  Only about 2,000 taxpayers in America report incomes that high, putting Kaepernick not in the hated 1%, but in the 0.01% in income.  No matter, Kaepernick sacrificed his wealth to protest racial discrimination by kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem at NFL games.  He said then that it had nothing to do with disrespecting the flag, but I guess he’s changed his mind about that, because the Betsy Ross flag really offends him.  Kaepernick told Nike it shouldn’t use that version of the flag, as he and others consider it an offensive symbol due to its connection to a time when slavery was legal.  He said that the “Betsy Ross” flag design – which sports 13 stars in a circle is associated with racism and slavery.  Ever a slave (can I use that word?) to political correctness (or is it political cowardice?), Nike immediately cancelled the sneaker line, making the few pairs already sold collector’s items.  Putting aside the fact that Leftists are immune to logic, celebrity Mike Rowe has highlighted the illogic of Kaepernick’s complaint.  “He has argued that the Betsy Ross flag is ‘racist,’ because it flew at a time when slavery was legal in America.  By that definition, aren’t crosses also racist?  Weren’t they on churches attended by slave-owning congregants?  Why not demand their removal?” “What about the Bald Eagle?” he continued. “Wasn’t our national bird flying around when slaves were held?  Why not protest it as well?  What about the Great Seal?  Why not ban that?”  Not a bad idea.  After all, the Great Seal was designed by the same white man who designed the 13 starred flag, one Francis Hopkinson, of Bordentown, New Jersey.  We can’t let a white Jersey guy get away with that.  But what has Kaepernick got against poor Betsy Ross?  He is obviously as ignorant as he is illogical.  Betsy Ross was a female entrepreneur who ran her own businesses at a time when women didn’t enjoy the rights they have today.  Plus, she was a single mother.  So, isn’t criticism of Betsy Ross sexist and misogynistic?  I bet if Betsy said she was only paid 71 pence for every pound male flagmakers made, Kaepernick would take notice.  But Betsy didn’t have an easy time.  She was widowed twice by the time she was 30 years old.  Her second husband was a mariner, was taken prisoner by the British and shipped to Plymouth, England, where he died in prison.  Betsy was a professional upholsterer.  She made cartridges for the Continental Army, she made flags, and even did work for George Washington in 1774.  America’s first Flag Act was enacted in 1777.  Betsy was making flags at that time, but whether she actually sewed the first US flag is unclear.  The Independence Hall Association backs her. “Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag.  When we view the flag, we think of liberty, freedom, pride, and Betsy Ross.” (Kaepernick only thinks of racism and slavery).  “The American flag flies on the moon, sits atop Mount Everest, is hurtling out in space. The flag is how America signs her name.  It is no surprise that Betsy Ross has become one of the most cherished figures of American History.”  The Betsy Ross story has become the stuff of legend.  Quoting that great line from The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence, “When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.”  We have.  Simply put, Colin Kaepernick is an ignorant boob.  The patriots who fought the Revolutionary War against the British were fighting for freedom, not for slavery.  When Betsy Ross was producing ammunition for the patriots and sewed the flag with 13 stars, if she did, her husband lay dying in a British prison, his crime – sailing a ship for America.  You think Betsy was thinking about slavery when she sewed those stars?  And Kaepernick, what is it you really want?  Maybe Betsy should have left off the 5 stars representing the colonies that kept slaves.  Kaepernick must have the same objection to the current US flag.  Hey boob, ten of the 50 stars on today’s flag are for States that were part of the Confederacy.  Maybe Kaepernick will have to require all flags to have only 40 stars from now on, so he doesn’t have to think about unpleasant history.  But what to do with those 10 left over stars?  Maybe Kaepernick can stick them somewhere, hopefully points first.
