In the aftermath of the election, with leftists in a state of shock, and the pundits and pollsters eating so much crow that the species Corvus is at risk of becoming endangered, we return to the only important question facing America: how will this affect Il Duce Barack Obama? In these pages I have referred to Obama as Il Duce because, like Mussolini, he is the embodiment of a leader who came to power through a cult of personality. Obama shares Mussolini’s conception of the State as an absolute, in comparison with which all individuals or groups are relative, only to be conceived of in their relation to the State. The abortion debate and the doctrine behind Obamacare are good examples of this. Obama supported late-term abortions. At the same time, one of the architects of Obamacare, Rahm Emanuel’s brother Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, has written that age 75 is “the ideal age to die.” He even wants to rewrite the Hippocratic Oath so that doctors pledge to provide only “socially sustainable, cost-effective care.” In other words, the State should determine whether an individual lives or dies. Perhaps Hollywood will produce the movie version of the Obama years, Mr. Fascist Goes to Washington. Obama even embraces the Italian Fascist motto, “Il Duce ha sempre ragione.” “Obama is always right.” At least in his mind. As one afflicted with the mental disease known as liberalism, Obama naturally assumes that whatever he thinks automatically is right. Couple this with his remarkable job description; the man who is in charge of everything, but responsible for nothing, and you can understand why we’re in the fix we’re in. The election hasn’t altered Obama’s resolve. This week, on his trip to Greece, Obama said Trump’s election was not his fault. He claimed that voters who voted for Trump are better off today than they were in 2008 because of his policies. As they say, denial is not just a river in Egypt. Mr. President, the voters in Ohio and Wisconsin and Michigan and Pennsylvania who delivered the election to Trump used to be Democrats. They are the very people whose lives you think you have improved. Obama told voters that if they didn’t vote for Hillary, it would be an insult TO HIM. Il Duce proclaimed that it was necessary to vote for Hillary to protect the Obama legacy. Mission accomplished Fearless Leader, the Obama legacy is fully intact. Voter turnout in this election was at a 20 year low. Trump received a few more votes than Romney in 2012. But somehow, between 2008 and 2016, which last I checked, are the years of Obama, more than 8 million Democrat voters simply disappeared. In 2008, Obama got almost 70 million votes. In 2016, Hillary received less than 62 million. Obama explained this away in Greece, claiming that the problem is that “government needs to do more for working people.” I’d say it’s done enough. Obama’s government has caused 10 million people to stop looking for work. Obama’s Government has taxed working people to death and then taxed them after death. Obama’s Government has regulated working people out of their jobs, even promising to close down entire industries. Obamacare premiums are up, in some States, more than 100% just this year. Obama had two things to say about that: 1) It’s not my fault; and 2) the price increases only affect the millions who actually have to pay for their healthcare, a/k/a, the middle class. Which to my mind explains the election results far better than Obama’s explanation. These are the policies of which Obama is proud, and which comprise the legacy which Obama seeks to protect. The true Obama legacy transcends these policies. In truth, Barack Obama has managed, in 8 years, to accomplish two things which have eluded Republicans for 150 years: cripple the Democratic Party, and unite the Republican Party. This is Obama’s legacy. Since 2009, Democrats have lost 12 Senate seats and their Senate majority. They have lost 64 House seats and their House majority. They have lost 14 Governors. In addition, the Obama years have seen Democrats lose more than 900 offices nationwide. In 2008 there were 27 States where the Governors and Legislatures were all Democrats. Today there are 4 all Democrat States, and Republicans have 25 all Republican States. As I write this, the Democratic National Committee has no Chairperson, and the Party is dominated by the Sanders/Warren socialist/anarchist faction. As I write this, Democrats have delayed their House Minority Leader vote, signalling the end of Nancy Pelosi’s leadership position. Meanwhile, Congressional Republicans, who ran away from Trump before the election, have been spotted wearing Trump’s “Make America Great” hats and the leadership is vowing solidarity. This Republican era of good feeling is not likely to last long, but it is refreshing. We owe a debt of gratitude to Barack Obama for sowing the seeds that may, at long last, lead to real progress. No matter how hard he campaigned for Hillary Clinton, Obama’s real concern always was for himself. He can do one more thing between now and January 20 which would both define his legacy and help America. He can pardon Hillary Clinton. This helps Obama because it keeps Hillary from squealing on him. It helps Hillary because it keeps her out of an orange prison pants suit. And it helps America by removing the distraction which the continued scrutiny of Hillary Clinton would bring. I wanted two things from Hillary Clinton this year; for her not to be elected President, and for her to go away, go home and wipe the oatmeal off Bill’s chin. The election fulfilled the first wish. An Obama pardon of Hillary will fulfill the second. But Frank, doesn’t that let Hillary get away with her crimes? So what? The system is rigged. Donald Trump told me so.
