Doctors take the Hippocratic Oath, the essence of which is that a practitioner should do no harm. Even if you can’t make the patient better, at least don’t make things any worse. The first 15 months of the Administration of Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe Biden has revealed a dire need for a similar oath for elected officials. Let’s call it the Politicratic Oath. Where our government is concerned, we are the patients and our president is the practitioner. In every presidential election, one candidate or the other promises that he or she, will makes us better, will cure what ails us. Implicit in such promises, however, is the notion that, whatever they do, at least they won’t make things worse. Such an oath would have served Joe Biden and his Party well. Had Joe Biden, despite all the anti-Trump rhetoric he had to spew to satisfy the wild-eyed zealots who gave him his job, simply left in place many of the policies in effect when he assumed office, he, his Party, and the rest of us would be far better off than we are now. Biden inherited an economy itching to burst out. Goldman-Sachs projected 2021 growth of 7%, unheard of since the Reagan years. Biden’s management reduced growth to 2% in 2021, and negative 1.4% for first quarter 2022. Trump left Biden an economy with lower taxes, higher wages, energy independence, no inflation, a strong military, a secure border, new beneficial trade agreements, low oil prices, and China, North Korea and Russia under control. On May 6, 2022, Tucker Carlson summed up the job Biden has done in the first 15 months of his term. “Joe Biden has turned out to be an unparalleled disaster. That’s not an overstatement. In fact, it’s a generous assessment. Our country has never seen anything like what Joe Biden has done. Barely 15 months into his first term as president, Joe Biden has crashed the stock market, provoked a food shortage, opened our borders to millions of illegal aliens, presided over historic rises in murder, inflation and drug ODs, as well as a corresponding plunge in overall life expectancy. And then, because all of that wasn’t punitive enough for a country as racist as ours, he dragged the United States into an entirely pointless war with a nuclear-armed power on behalf of a corrupt foreign government that once bribed his drug-addicted son. That’s all real. Joe Biden did all of that and those are the big easy-to-measure crimes he has committed.” That’s a pretty rough assessment, but indisputably true. While I’m pleased to see that Democrat rule is an abject failure, just how they managed to make things so bad so fast is a puzzlement to me. James Clyburn cut the deal that made Joe Biden the Democrat candidate in 2020. Everybody knew that Old Joe never had been the sharpest tool in the shed, and that his limited intellect had deteriorated to the point where he was functionally null and void between the ears. Clearly, someone or some group had to be chosen to pull the strings behind the scenes. That being the case, you would think it would behoove the Democrats to choose controllers who had some understanding of how government works, and enough political savvy to keep Democrats in office. They didn’t. Joe Biden could have greatly benefited from a Cabinet that was a collection of knowledgeable men and women capable of managing the massive federal bureaucracy. He didn’t get that. As mentioned above, Biden owes his job to James Clyburn and the Progressive cabal of nuts, commies, and addle-brained social engineers. As a result, we don’t have a Cabinet peopled by accomplished executives in their respective fields. We have instead an identity politics bazaar, right out of the Star Wars bar scene. The Cabinet members were chosen, not based on talent or experience, but by race, gender and sexual preference. Diversity uber alles. It must be understood that the calamities that have befallen us these past 15 months are not the result of mistakes by Joe Biden, they are deliberate decisions. It’s as though everything the Biden Administration does is calculated to to do the most damage, and piss off the greatest number of people possible. This is strictly contrary to the Politicratic Oath. In fact, it’s contrary to most theories of politics. George Washington adopted a utilitarian model, “The end of all government ought to be the aggregate happiness of the society, which is best promoted by the practice of a virtuous policy.” Making even your own base angry doesn’t promote that goal. Otto von Bismarck was more practical, “Politics is the art of the possible.” Biden’s ignoring Bismarck by pursuing policies which seek to mandate the impossible, like mandating electric cars with no infrastructure capable of producing either the vehicles or the energy needed to run them. Biden’s philosophy is closer to that of Mao Tse-Tung, “Politics is war without bloodshed,” only not a perfect match as today’s Democrats are perfectly willing to sanction violence to get what they want. George Orwell’s vision of politics is a closer match, “All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia.” Now we’re talking Biden. The Biden policies have been a wrecking ball, with a big middle finger on it. And remember, it’s all deliberate. We have runaway inflation. Excessive government spending makes inflation worse. Biden wants to spend trillions more. Oil has gone from $60 a barrel to $109, the price of gasoline has nearly doubled, in some States reaching $7 a gallon. It’s an economic disaster, especially for the “underserved communities” that Democrats keep telling us they’re worried about. Joe Biden’s response, “Don’t blame me. Nothing I can do.” Insulting? Sure. Weak? Definitely. But not the result of a mistaken Biden policy. It’s purely intentional. Our Energy Secretary knows nothing about energy. She is on record saying “oil should be left in the ground.” They want a high price to discourage fossil fuel usage. The alternative? Uh, they didn’t think about that. Biden’s cancelled enforcement of immigration laws, allowing more than 500,000 illegals to enter each month, to be housed, fed and cared for, while they take the jobs of people who normally vote for Democrats. Violent crime is rampant. People are afraid to walk the streets. Biden’s Attorney General is on the job though. His priorities? Tracking non-existent white supremecist terrorists, investigating parents who dare to criticize school boards, and pursuing “environmental justice,” while the cities burn. This is suicidal for a Party trying to stay in power. The only explanation I can think of is that the Democrat mind has been narrowed to the point where it recognizes only what’s currently trending on Twitter. They really believe the prevailing opinions on Twitter represent the beliefs of most of America, but have overlooked the fact that Twitter only permits Leftist opinions. That’s why the prospect of free speech terrifies them. The Democrats are pushing their Party towards oblivion. I hope they keep up the good work.
