FRANK ON FRIDAY – The Unwelcome Aliens

Well, it’s finally happened.  The Biden Administration finally has found a group of foreigners that it doesn’t want to let into our country.  These are people who really are at risk of starvation, imprisonment or death at the hands of their government, all risks which would make them legitimate candidates for political asylum.  But the Biden crowd wants no part of them.  These people aren’t looking for a handout.  They love America so much they even proudly wave American flags.  They don’t want to come here to tell us America sucks and we have change to suit them.  Indeed, they really don’t want to come here at all.  All they want from their government are the things we take for granted.  A little liberty, an opportunity to make a living, and the freedom to speak their minds.  But now that I think about it, those things are becoming harder to get right here.  I’m speaking, of course, of the courageous Cubans who took to the streets this week to protest their government’s repression.  Last Sunday, Cuban protestors all over the island, some carrying American flags, marched through the streets chanting  “freedom,” “liberty,” “no tenemos miedo,” meaning “we are not afraid,” and “Down with Communism!” They also chanted, “Patria y Vida” – “Homeland and Life,”  a variation on murdering S.O.B. Che Guevara’s  revolutionary slogan, “Homeland or Death.”  The marchers protested severe food and medicine shortages. “Our people are dying of hunger.  We are dying of hunger,” one protestor cried.  The marchers called for the resignation of President Miguel Díaz-Canel.  Diaz-Canel reacted as any communist dictator would, or now that I think about it, as Maxine Waters, Facebook and Twitter would, by cutting off all internet access, calling for civil war, and urging civilians to violently attack anyone participating in protests.  “This is why we are calling all the revolutionaries of our country, all the communists, to go to the streets anywhere that these provocations are happening today.”  Putting aside the wisdom of a government, which has been in power for 62 years, calling for a civil war in its own country, this once again proves Mao’s maxim, that Communist political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.  Diaz-Canel’s hit men didn’t disappoint.  Cuban “state security agents” fired live rounds into crowds and beat protesters with baseball bats.  According to the Cuban pro-democracy group “Cuba Decide,” more than 100 people connected to the protests have disappeared since they began. Catholic priest, Father Castor José Álvarez Devesa, who advocates for the end of authoritarianism in Cuba, and who authored a 2018 letter to Raúl Castro seeking free elections, was beaten bloody, dragged through the streets, and his whereabouts are unknown.  One protester told a journalist, “In my neighborhood they have already taken away two young people and I am waiting for them to come get me since I was at the protests.”  Sounds like one of the January 6th trespassers waiting for the arrival of the FBI.  Cuban police also attacked journalists.  The face of Associated Press photographer Ramón Espinosa was broken and bloodied.  Other international photographers documented Espinosa’s gang beating.  One would think such blatant police brutality might induce a journalistic reaction.  It has.  CBS News has laid the blame right where it belongs, on Donald Trump.  Parroting the propaganda of Diaz-Canel, CBS blamed the U.S., and Trump in particular, because of the embargo that has existed since 1962.  Democrats regularly call for an end to all Cuban sanctions.  In its excuse for communism, The New York Times, characterized protesters’ calls for “freedom,” “liberty,” and “democracy,” as “anti-government slogans.”  One would think that, having concluded that the Cuban government opposes freedom, liberty and democracy, The Times might lend support to the protests.  It won’t.  Maybe that’s because they object to Cuban protesters who respect the American flag, instead of burning it, like any good progressive.  After all, it was Times editorial board member Mara Gay who claimed that seeing American flags on pickup trucks ‘disturbed’ her. Gay blamed ‘whiteness’ for the flags, and said Americans would continue to observe such uncouth behavior until whites were ready to surrender to black radicals.  She said that those who fly the flag have a racist message, and that white people need to separate whiteness from Americanism.  Huh?  Gay isn’t alone.  The Utah chapter of Black Lives Matter said, “When we Black Americans see this flag we know the person flying it is not safe to be around; we know the person flying it is a racist; we know that the person flying it lives in a different America than we do.  When we see this flag, we question your intelligence.  We know to avoid you.  It is a symbol of hatred.”  President Diaz-Canel would be so proud.  It’s not surprising though, BLM leaders are Marxists, just like he is.  The response from the Biden Administration was equally inane.  A Corrupt Demented Imbecile Joe Biden spokeswoman said, the protests weren’t over political oppression, but rather “concern about rising COVID cases, deaths, and medicine shortages.”  Kamala Harris is always looking for the root cause of problems, maybe Biden should send her and Fauci down there with a box of masks.   A State Department spokesperson named Chung said that the Cuban people were “exercising their right to peaceful assembly.”  Senator Ted Cruz had to remind Chung that communist governments don’t permit  such a right.  The Cuban protests are clear and convincing evidence that too many Americans simply don’t appreciate the freedoms that exist in America, and nowhere else in the world.  What’s more, morons like socialist celebrities, and young people who advocate for socialism and communism in America, simply don’t understand how quickly the freedoms they take for granted may disappear forever.  And we can’t blame the kids, when they see examples like the entire Democrat delegation of the Texas Assembly abandon their offices to avoid having to vote on an election reform bill.  They took a private plane (maskless) to Washington, D.C. to hide out with their Leftist comrades.  I’m waiting for Quasi-Pelosi to ring a bell in the Capitol Dome, and start yelling, “Sanctuary!”  I don’t ever want to hear another Democrat lecture us on threats to democracy, after Texas Democrats abandoned their democracy.  Kids, you don”t have to listen to me.  Heed the words of Joni Mitchell, “Don’t it always seem to go, that you don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone?”  Cubans understand this principle all too well.

For decades, they have risked their lives to escape the very system that our Left has embraced.  We should be aiding the protesters.  Cuban President Diaz-Canel has pledged that the protesters will destroy the revolution “over our dead body.”  From his lips to God’s ears.
